About the
Nigeria Sugar Institute
The Nigeria Sugar Institute (NSI) was incorporated as a limited liability company on June 17, 2019 (Limited by Guarantee). Its corporate headquarters is in Ilorin, Kwara State. The institute has two Biofactories (Tissue culture laboratories), located in Ilorin and in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The institute was officially commissioned on January 28, 2021. The institute undertakes all scientific, technical, training and research functions related to the sugar and alcohol industries.
The institute provides comprehensive consultancy services, including problem identification, sugar loss prevention, and performance optimization across both field and factory operations.
